IF YOU NEED A VISA TO ENTER THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION
You must bring the following to cross the border:
- a visa
- a valid passport
- a medical insurance policy valid on the territory of the Russian Federation (if needed)
How to apply for a visa?
If you need a visa to enter the Russian Federation, you can:
- obtain a visa through an invitation for foreign arrivals (for all Congress participants)
- obtain an electronic visa (available for citizens of 64 foreign countries)

VISA BY INVITATION FOR FOREIGN ARRIVALS
for all Congress participants
Visa validity periods
After submitting all the required documents, Congress participants can obtain a short-term, single-entry Russian visa for the period from 15 to 30 May 2025 at foreign consular offices of the Russian Federation on the day of their application.
How to apply for a visa?
If you need to apply for a visa, you need:
- invitation for foreign arrivals
- list of documents
GENERATE AN INVITATION FOR FOREIGN ARRIVALS*
* An invitation for foreign arrivals is not an invitation to the Congress, but a separate document from organizers
- All confirmed participants will receive an official invitation to the Congress by email.
- After receiving the invitation, log in to your Roscongress personal account using your personal login and password.
- Confirm your attendance at the Congress.
- Go to the ‘My events – 11th Nevsky International Ecological Congress – Event dashboard – Visa support’ tab of the Roscongress personal account.
- Your personal information will be automatically uploaded from the Roscongress personal account to the document. You can manually add the city and country where you will be applying for your visa.
- Download and print the invitation for foreign arrivals.
- Provide your Russian consular office with the invitation for foreign arrivals and the other required visa documents.
SUBMIT AN APPLICATION AT A CONSULAR OFFICE
To receive a visa for entry into Russia, individuals in possession of an invitation must apply at the relevant foreign consular office of the Russian Federation. Information about the location of Russian consular offices can be found on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
We recommend that participants apply at their Russian consular office in good time, and at least 2 (two) weeks before their departure.
Please make sure to bring the following documents with you when attending your consular office:

A printed invitation for foreign arrivals. The document must be generated in the Roscongress personal account.

A valid international passport (regular, diplomatic, service, official) or other valid travel document certifying the identity of the foreign citizen and recognized as such by the Russian Federation.
The passport must have at least two blank pages and be valid for at least six months after the visa expiration date.The passport validity requirement (6 months) does not apply to those applying for diplomatic and service visas.

A completed and printed visa application form. The form must be filled out in advance on the visa website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
When completing the form, members of official delegations, business representatives and persons accompanying them should select ‘official visit’ as the purpose of their trip, while journalists should select ‘press/correspondent’ or ‘press/technical’.

One 35 x 45 mm photo (colour or black and white).
The photograph must be with a clear front view of the participant’s face, without tinted glasses or headgear (with the exception of foreign citizens who are required to wear headgear with respect to their nationality or religion, and provided that they are wearing headgear in their passport photo).
The photograph must have been taken no earlier than six months before the date of application;

A medical insurance policy that is valid in Russia*.
* The requirement to have medical insurance only applies to citizens of countries that impose a similar requirement on citizens of the Russian Federation when entering their territory: Iran, Ireland, Israel, and the Schengen countries (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland).
The requirement to provide medical insurance also does not apply to foreign citizens applying for diplomatic and service visas.
E-VISA
Can be issued to citizens of 64 foreign countries:
Austria, Barbados, Bahrain, Belgium, Bulgaria, Bhutan, Cambodia, China, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Eswatini, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Iran, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Kenya, The Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Kuwait, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, Monaco, Myanmar, Netherlands, North Korea, Northern Macedonia, Norway, Oman, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Saint Lucia, San Marino, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Tonga, Trinidad and Tobago, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Vatican, Vietnam, Zimbabwe.
Validity period of e-visa
The unified electronic visa is a single-entry visa. The validity of the single electronic visa is 60 days from the date of issue.
The permitted period of stay in the Russian Federation on a single electronic visa is not more than 16 days from the day of entry within its validity period.
How do I apply for an e-visa?
To apply for a unified e-visa, it is necessary to fill in an application on the purpose-made website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia.
The application may be submitted not earlier than 40 days and not later than 4 days before the expected date of entry into the Russian Federation.
The unified electronic visa is not free. Payment is made on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia via the Internet using bank cards of international payment systems (Visa, MasterCard, etc.). No refunds will be issued regardless of the result of the application.
