Visit to the St. Isaac’s Cathedral State Museum and Monument

The St. Isaac’s Cathedral State Museum and Monument is one of the most significant art museums in Russia and is also famous in many other countries. St. Isaac’s Cathedral is a unique monument of Russian architecture and one of the best cathedrals in Europe. It is an outstanding example of Russian cult art. The cathedral’s artistic design includes the largest collection of Russian monumental painting of the mid-19th century, with more than 150 works by such prominent artists as Vasily Shebuyev, Karl Bryullov, and Fyodor Bruni. Over 300 statues as well as sculptural groups and reliefs were made by Ivan Vitali. More than 60 mosaic works by Russian craftsmen play a key role in the museum’s artistic decoration. A top attraction of the museum is one of the largest stained-glass windows in Russia with a total area of 28.5 square metres.

Visit to the Russian Ethnographic Museum

The Russian Ethnographic Museum, one of the world’s largest ethnographic museums, seeks to acquire, store, and study traditional cultural artifacts of the peoples of Eurasia. Its collection includes around 500,000 exhibits. The museum’s expositions and exhibitions allow visitors to see the unique world of the peoples who inhabited the vast expanses of Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, Siberia, and Central Asia. The museum is home to the cultural artifacts of 157 peoples of Russia and neighbouring countries.

Visit to the St. Petersburg State Museum of Theatre and Musical Art

The first museum in Russia dedicated to the history of Russian theatre. The museum’s collection contains 450,000 exhibits that tell the story of drama, opera, and ballet art during its existence in Russia. The museum is located in the former building of the Directorate of Imperial Theatres, which is part of the architectural ensemble of Ostrovsky Square that was designed by Karl Rossi in the 19th century.

The State Memorial Museum of the Defence and Siege of Leningrad was founded during World War II and became one of the first museums in the world dedicated to the history of the war. The museum was a logical extension of the exhibits of captured weapons and the exhibition ‘The Great Patriotic War of the Soviet People against German Fascism’, which opened in Leningrad based on a decision by the Military Council of the Leningrad Front back in 1941.

Visit to the State Museum of the History of St. Petersburg

The Peter and Paul Fortress is the heart of St. Petersburg. It is the site where a new city, the future capital of the Russian Empire, was founded on 27 May 1703 at the behest of Peter the Great. Today, the Peter and Paul Fortress is one of the cultural and scientific centres of St. Petersburg. The fortress houses museum exhibits about the history of the city, the St. Petersburg Mint, as well as the Peter and Paul Cathedral, which is the first cathedral church in the Northern capital and was the burial site of the Russian emperors of the Romanov dynasty for 200 years.

Fashion show featuring reused clothing (St. Petersburg State Academy of Art and Industry named after A.L. Stieglitz, 13, Solyanoy pereulok)

Millions of tonnes of waste are produced around the world every day, with reuse a valuable opportunity to breathe new life into goods. The principles of sustainable fashion are more relevant today than ever before, and the fashion industry has been active in its response to new environmental challenges.

Old clothing in St. Petersburg will be collected in partnership with the Second Wind Foundation as material for new collections to be designed by the students of the Stieglitz Academy. The group show will also include a collection created for the 2022 Tavrida-Art Forum and a collection of items by famous St. Petersburg designer Tatyana Parfenova.

Visitors can expect a colourful show, informative exhibition, and delicious buffet.

Premiere screening of the documentary What is a Circular Economy?

The premiere screening of the documentary What is a Circular Economy? will be held at the historical Aurora Cinema.

The film was prepared by Channel One at the request of Russian Environmental Operator.

The film focuses on the pollution of oceans and fresh water sources, specifically microplastics, one of the most common types of waste and one of the main causes of pollution worldwide. The picture not only addresses a crucial problem, but also shows the best global practices for recycling electrical scrap, plastic, paper, and textiles.

The film features appearances by the prominent actresses, Yulia Vysotskaya and Anna Banshchikova, traveller Fyodor Konyukhov, representatives of Russian sports Vyacheslav Fetisov and Nikolay Valuyev, as well as statesmen Viktoria Abramchenko and Denis Butsaev.

The audience will have a chance to meet with the film crew at the premiere.

The Great Hall of the St. Petersburg Philharmonic is one of the best concert halls in Europe and can accommodate almost 1,500 people. Its first-class acoustics have received high praise from the world’s leading recording companies. Since the 1840s, it has been the centre of St. Petersburg’s musical life.
United by the common theme of ecology, the programme of the Bis-quit Ensemble of Russian Folk Instruments consists of well-known melodies from classical to jazz: The Carnival of the Animals by Saint-Saens, The Seasons by Tchaikovsky, Flight of the Bumblebee by Rimsky-Korsakov, Autumn in Buenos Aires by Piazzolla, Spain by Chick Corea, and even Earth Song by Michael Jackson.
